There are several ways to participate in our auctions:

In the saleroom: Before bidding at auction you must complete and sign a registration form, when you will be issued with a paddle number. We reserve the right to ask new buyers for identification and may also request references.

Commission bids: We will be pleased to execute bids on behalf of clients who are unable to attend the sale in person, subject to our Conditions of Business. Lots will always be purchased as cheaply as possible, depending on other bids and reserves. This service is offered free of charge and clients are welcome to send their bids by mail, telephone or email.
Many of our auctions are also hosted on and Clients are welcome to submit commission bids through these sites, and these will also be executed free of charge. If you are a new bidder, please supply two recognised trade references when submitting your bids, if possible.
We strongly advise that written bids should be submitted before 6pm on the day before the sale, although we will do our best to execute bids submitted later.
An Absentee Bidding Form can be downloaded and printed here.

Online bidding: We offer online bidding via two third-party services: and Bids submitted in this way are also subject to our standard Conditions of Business. Successful bidders will be charged for this service, which is provided on the understanding that Morton and Eden Ltd shall not be held responsible for errors or failures to execute internet bids.
